Modeling of the study of viscoelastic deformation of elastic bodies

open access: yesСовременная математика: Фундаментальные направления
This article proposes a numerical-analytical method for solving linear viscoelasticity problems of an anisotropic solid without the need for explicit analytical representations of creep and relaxation kernels.

ON EQUIVALENCE OF KELVIN AND MAXWELL MULTIELEMENT MODELS [PDF]

open access: yesAvtomobilʹnyj Transport (Harʹkov), 2015
The problem of Kelvin and Maxwell model equivalence in one- and three-dimensional cases is investigated. The equations of one model transfer to the other one have been given.

Analysis of creep curves produced by the linear viscoelasticity theory under cyclic stepwise loadings

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2017
Basic qualitative properties of the creep curves generated by the linear integral constitutive relation of viscoelasticity (with an arbitrary creep compliance) under cyclic piecewise-constant uni-axial loadings (with an arbitrary asymmetry stress ratio ...

Soft Mechanical‐Electrical Logic Using Liquid Metal‐Filled 3D‐Printed Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present 3D‐printed soft mechanical–electrical logic elements that use liquid metal–filled silicone tubes actuated by thermoplastic polyurethane/polylactic acid (TPU/PLA) architectures to produce Boolean operations. Complementary normally open and normally closed unit cells perform repeatable binary transitions and can be combined into more complex ...

Linear viscoelasticity of the lamellar liquid crystalline phase for a heptane/nonionic surfactant/water system

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2000
A linear viscoelastic characterization by small amplitude oscillatory shear tests was carried out for heptane/polyoxyethylene glycol nonylphenyl ether (EOa=10)/water system exhibiting a lamellar liquid crystalline structure.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Linear Viscoelastic Responses: The Prony Decomposition Naturally Leads Into the Caputo-Fabrizio Fractional Operator

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics, 2018
The study addresses the physical background and modeling of linear viscoelastic response functions and their reasonable relationships to the Caputo-Fabrizio fractional operator via the Prony (Dirichlet series) series decomposition.

Low Cycle Repetitive Loading of Ti‐6Al‐4V‐Epoxy Composite Lattice Structures for Enhanced Energy Dissipation and Damage Tolerance

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Composite Ti–6Al–4V–epoxy lattice structures are additively manufactured and epoxy infiltrated for cyclic loading. At low lattice volume fractions, hybridization produces synergistic gains in stiffness and energy dissipation. At higher volume fractions, synergy diminishes, although composites still exceed metallic lattices in specific energy ...

Length dependence of viscoelasticity of entangled-DNA solution with and without external stress

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
We observed the diffusive motion of a micron-sized bead in an entangled-DNA solution to investigate the effect of the viscoelasticity on the bead motion.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.
