Intrinsically triple-linked graphs in RP^3

open access: yes, 2015
Flapan--Naimi--Pommersheim showed that every spatial embedding of $K_{10}$, the complete graph on ten vertices, contains a non-split three-component link; that is, $K_{10}$ is intrinsically triple-linked in $\mathbb{R}^3$.

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Vertical Head Movements Influence Memory Performance for Words With Emotional Content

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Numerous studies have found an association between valence and the vertical dimension of space (good-up, bad-down). This association has also been linked to sensorimotor experiences (e.g., body movements).

MRCIF: A Memory-Reverse-Based Code Injection Forensics Algorithm

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
The new DLL injection method and its variants can prevent the injected process from calling the common system API to load the injected DLL module so that the malicious module is invisible to the LDR linked list of the process.

An Algorithm to List All the Fixed-Point Free Involutions on a Finite Set [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
An involution on a finite set is a bijection such as I(I(e))=e for all the element of the set. A fixed-point free involution on a finite set is an involution such as I(e)=e for none element of the set.

Models and Materials for Generalized Kitaev Magnetism

open access: yes, 2017
The exactly solvable Kitaev model on the honeycomb lattice has recently received enormous attention linked to the hope of achieving novel spin-liquid states with fractionalized Majorana-like excitations.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

New data on the southern Iberian serpentinophyte flora (Andalusia, Spain)

open access: yesMediterranean Botany, 2018
This work updates the existing list of obligate endemic serpentinophytes of the southern Iberian Peninsula. Serpentine ecosystems are developed on ultramafic outcrops which, although rare, have a worldwide distribution. The highly evolved and specialized

The LiLa Lemma Bank: A Knowledge Base of Latin Canonical Forms

open access: yesJournal of Open Humanities Data, 2023
The dataset contains a list of 215,102 Latin dictionary forms (known as canonical forms or lemmas). The dataset is a set of 1,699,687 Resource Description Framework (RDF) triples that describe, using a series of Web Ontology Language (OWL) ontologies for

Paid Exchanges are Worth the Price [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We consider the list update problem as defined in the seminal work on competitive analysis by Sleator and Tarjan [12]. In this problem, a sequence of requests, consisting of items to access in a linked list, is given.
