The techniques of recoil tritiation [1] and Wilzbachtritiation [2] have been used to make a large number of complex organic compounds and natural mixtures such as “petroleum fractions” available for radioisotope studies [3,4]. Preparation of many of these compounds would not have been feasible by other techniques.
