Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Membrane-Mediated Lateral Interactions Regulate the Lifetime of Gramicidin Channels
The lipid matrix of cellular membranes is an elastic liquid crystalline medium. Its deformations regulate the functionality and interactions of membrane proteins,f membrane-bound peptides, lipid and protein-lipid domains.

μ-calpain binds to lipid bilayers via the exposed hydrophobic surface of its Ca2+-activated conformation [PDF]
μ- and m-calpain are cysteine proteases requiring micro- and millimolar Ca2+ concentrations for their activation in vitro. Among other mechanisms, interaction of calpains with membrane phospholipids has been proposed to facilitate their activation by ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Studies of Tryptophans in Membrane- Spanning WALP Peptides by Deuterium NMR Spectroscopy [PDF]
WALP pep tides of sequence acetyl-Gly-Trp-Trp-(Leu-Ala)-Trp-Trp-Ala-ethanolamine insert into lipid bilayers as membrane-spanning a-helices and modulate the lipid phase behavior as functions of n and the lipid acyl chain length.

Lipid ion channels and the role of proteins [PDF]
Synthetic lipid membranes in the absence of proteins can display quantized conduction events for ions that are virtually indistinguishable from those of protein channel. By indistinguishable we mean that one cannot decide based on the current trace alone

Pex11mediates peroxisomal proliferation by promoting deformation of the lipid membrane
Pex11p family proteins are key players in peroxisomal fission, but their molecular mechanisms remains mostly unknown. In the present study, overexpression of Pex11p&bgr; caused substantial vesiculation of peroxisomes in mammalian cells.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
