Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Changes in proximate composition and oil characteristics during flaxseed development

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2014
Atmospheric Pressure Photoionization-Mass Spectrometry (APPI-MS) and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) are the two analytical methods that were used to characterize Triacylglycerols (TAGs) during flaxseed development.

Quelques éléments marquants de la 107ème réunion annuelle de l’AOCS (Salt Lake City, 1–4 mai 2016)

open access: yesOilseeds and fats, crops and lipids, 2016

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Lipides et corps gras alimentaires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003

Association between plasma HDL-cholesterol concentration and Taq1B CETP gene polymorphism in non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1998
The effects of CETP gene Taq1B polymorphism on plasma lipoproteins were investigated in 176 patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. The distribution of CETP genotypes was similar to that previously described in the general population.

Fatty taste variability in obese subjects: the oral microbiota hypothesis☆

open access: yesOilseeds and fats, crops and lipids, 2020
Origin of the great inter-individual variability of the fatty taste perception found in obese subjects is challenging. The fact that recent studies suggest interrelations between taste perception and oral microbiota composition, prompt us to explore the ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Functionality of lipids and lipid-protein interactions in cereal-derived food products

open access: yesOléagineux, Corps gras, Lipides, 2003
Lipids and especially cereal lipids play a significant role in the processing and quality of cereals and baked cereal foods (bread, biscuits) and beverages (beer).
