Selective Lipoprotein Removal Enables High‐Purity EV Isolation from Plasma via Aptamer‐Based Mesh Filtration

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A novel affinity‐based mesh filtration system, ApoFilter, enables selective removal of plasma lipoproteins via sequential aptamer‐functionalized layers targeting ApoA1 and ApoB100. While EVs pass through unimpeded, (V)LDL and HDL are rapidly depleted.

SMILE: Extraction‐free submicron‐resolution mapping of lipid chain length and unsaturation by stimulated Raman imaging

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
In this work, we develop submicron‐resolution mapping of intracellular lipid elements (SMILE) as an extraction‐free vibrational spectroscopic imaging platform based on hyperspectral stimulated Raman scattering microscopy with a spectral analysis pipeline for pixel‐resolved lipid profiling.

immunoHuMiX: A personalizable gut‐on‐chip model for unraveling human microbiome–immune interactions

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
The study introduces a personalized gut model that brings together human immune cells and intestinal cells to better mimic how the body interacts with microbes. This system successfully maintained both human cells and a 17‐strain probiotic community, showing consistent immune responses across different donors.

Proteomic profile of CSF obtained at the time of diagnosis determines amyotrophic lateral sclerosis progression and survival: CXCL7 levels in disease prognosis and survival

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Untargeted multiomic profiling of cerebrospinal fluid reveals that proteomic, but not lipidomic, signatures robustly distinguish ALS patients from controls and stratify individuals by survival, highlighting marked molecular differences between short survival and long survival disease.
