Effects of Yeast Product Addition and Fermentation Temperature on Lipid Composition, Taste and Mouthfeel Characteristics of Pinot Noir Wine

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2022
Lipids have important impacts on wine sensory. By targeting the lipid sources in wine, mainly from grape tissues and yeast cell walls, it was possible to alter the wine lipid profile thus potentially changing the final product quality.

Opto-lipidomics of tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
Abstract Lipid metabolism and signalling play pivotal functions in biology and disease development. Despite this, there is currently no optical technique available that can directly visualise the lipidome in tissues. In this study, we introduce opto-lipidomics, a new approach to optical molecular tissue imaging. We expand the capability

Multiomics identifies the link between intratumor steatosis and the exhausted tumor immune microenvironment in hepatocellular carcinoma

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Steatotic HCC can be diagnosed by MRI and forms a pro‐tumor immune microenvironment with high expression of PD‐L1, M2 polarization of macrophages and activation of CAFs, which may be a good target for combined immunotherapy. Abstract Background and Aims Immunotherapy has become the standard‐of‐care treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but its ...

Profile of Phosphatidylserine Modifications under Nitroxidative Stress Conditions Using a Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry Based Approach

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Nitrated lipids have been detected in vitro and in vivo, usually associated with a protective effect. While nitrated fatty acids have been widely studied, few studies reported the nitration and nitroxidation of the phospholipid classes ...

Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Loss of hepatic SMLR1 causes hepatosteatosis and protects against atherosclerosis due to decreased hepatic VLDL secretion

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
The role of SMLR1 in lipid metabolism (high fat + cholesterol diet in mice) Abstract Background and Aims The assembly and secretion of VLDL from the liver, a pathway that affects hepatic and plasma lipids, remains incompletely understood. We set out to identify players in the VLDL biogenesis pathway by identifying genes that are co‐expressed with the ...

Adiponectin Isoforms Differentially Affect Gene Expression and the Lipidome of Primary Human Hepatocytes

open access: yesMetabolites, 2014
Adiponectin (APN) exerts multiple beneficial effects in obesity and protects from liver injury. Different APN isoforms circulate in serum, and here, the effect of low molecular weight (LMW) and higher molecular weight (HMW) APN on primary human ...

Understanding the Lipidome at the Systems Level with lipidomeR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Abstract Lipidomics is one of the fastest-growing areas of molecular profiling in medicine. While increasing amounts of lipidomics data are generated, tools for analyzing and interpreting these data are not equally widely available. We present the lipidomeR -- a tool specifically designed for systematic interpretation of large lipidome ...

A Metabolomic Profiling of Intra-Uterine Growth Restriction in Placenta and Cord Blood Points to an Impairment of Lipid and Energetic Metabolism

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2022
(1) Background: Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) involves metabolic changes that may be responsible for an increased risk of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases in adulthood.
