In AKI, initial kidney injury upregulates the expression of Cav‐1, which subsequently binds to and stabilizes SERCA2 via its scaffolding domain and through deubiquitination, thereby regulating Ca2+ homeostasis and ER stress. Conversely, Cav‐1 deficiency accelerates SERCA2 degradation, triggering Ca2+ overload and ER stress, and ultimately exacerbating ...

Calsyntenin-1, clusterin and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin are candidate serological biomarkers for lung adenocarcinoma [PDF]
It has been drawn attention that secreted proteins with signal peptide from cancer cells provide new potential biomarkers of cancer. In this study, three lung adenocarcinoma cell lines and serum samples from 20 patients were used for identifying potential serologic tumor biomarker with proteomic and bioinformatics approaches.

IMM‐H018, a dual IDO1/NE inhibitor, demonstrates potent therapeutic efficacy in sepsis by simultaneously targeting excessive inflammation and immune dysfunction. It prevents both primary and secondary sepsis through anti‐inflammatory, immune‐restoring, and renoprotective mechanisms, reducing organ damage, improving immune homeostasis, preserving kidney

Pulse of inflammatory proteins in the pregnant uterus of European polecats (Mustela putorius) leading to the time of implantation [PDF]
Uterine secretory proteins protect the uterus and conceptuses against infection, facilitate implantation, control cellular damage resulting from implantation, and supply pre-implantation embryos with nutrients.

SDPR–STK38 axis controls the proliferation–differentiation balance in alveolar type II cells
The present study identifies SDPR as a pivotal regulator orchestrating the balance between proliferation and differentiation in alveolar type II (AT2) cells. In SDPR+/+ cells, SDPR binds to and inhibits STK38 activity, thereby sustaining GSK‐3β signaling functionality to promote cyclin D1 degradation and maintain cell cycle homeostasis.

This study demonstrated elevated levels of fecal component 3 (C3) and fibronectin (FN) in an ulcerative colitis (UC) mouse model. Importantly, fecal C3 exhibited a stronger correlation with disease activity than the clinically used fecal calprotectin (FC).
