Transabdominal photobiomodulation applications: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 26, Issue 8, August 2025.
Summary Introduction The escalating prevalence of obesity presents a multifaceted challenge involving genetic, environmental, and behavioral factors, with significant public health implications. Photobiomodulation (PBM) may positively influence metabolic activities in adipose cells and regulate inflammation, potentially impacting obesity.

Longitudinal study on lipoprotein profile, high density lipoprotein subclass, and postheparin lipases during gestation in women

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1996
To understand the mechanism responsible for maternal hyperlipidemia, 25 healthy pregnant women were studied longitudinally during the three trimesters of gestation and at post-partum, and 11 were studied again at post-lactation.

Defective lymphatic vasculature in obesity

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 26, Issue 8, August 2025.
Summary Lymphedema is an important, and often underdiagnosed complication of obesity and is likely due to acquired defects in the lymphatic vasculature. Study of diet‐induced obesity animal models have indicated defective lymphatic vasculatures might extend to other anatomical sites, especially visceral depots.

The liberation of lipoprotein lipase by heparin from adipose tissue incubated in vitro

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1959
Epididymal fat tissues of rats, incubated in vitro in the presence of heparin, have been found to release lipoprotein lipase into the medium. This release occurs rapidly and shows little dependence upon the composition of the medium.

Dietary Manganese Modulates Microbiota and Intestinal N‐Acylethanolamines in a Sex‐Specific Manner in Mice With Diet‐Induced Obesity

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 39, Issue 13, 15 July 2025.
Female and male mice were fed manganese (Mn)‐depleted or Mn‐enriched diets in combination with either a low fat‐low sucrose (LFLS) or high fat‐high sucrose (HFHS) diet for 28 days. A sex‐specific metabolic response was observed under Mn‐depleted conditions, particularly affecting monoacylglycerol levels.

Measurement of lipoprotein lipase activity in post heparin plasma: description of technique*

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1961
A method has been described for the quantitative assay of lipoprotein lipase activity in post heparin plasma. The conditions of the assay were subjected to critical study. The technique described permits the reaction to proceed in the test tube as a zero
