Triglyceride-rich lipoproteins derived from ten normo- and hyperlipidemic apoE-2 homozygotes were analyzed for their composition, beta-VLDL content, and their ability to induce cholesteryl ester storage in macrophages.

ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Down-regulation of lipoprotein lipase and VLDL receptor in rats with focal glomerulosclerosis [PDF]
Patients and animals with nephrotic syndrome and those with chronic renal failure (CRF) often exhibit hypertriglyceridemia and impaired very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) clearance. Imai rats that were originally derived from Sprague-Dawley rats develop spontaneous proteinuria, hyperlipidemia, progressive renal insufficiency and histologic changes of ...

Unregulated inflammation increases non‐esterified fatty acids (NEFAs), and triggers multi‐pathway hepatocyte damage including oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and metabolic disorders in dairy cows. ABSTRACT Circulating concentrations of nonesterified fatty acids (NEFAs) are elevated due to lipid mobilization from adipose tissue in ...

Objective Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) shows clinical and molecular heterogeneity, and cardiovascular (CV) complications and lupus nephritis (LN) remain leading causes of morbidity and mortality. This study investigated whether omic profiling can reveal molecular endotypes linked to these outcomes.

Foam cell formation occurs in vitro at lipoprotein concentrations above 50 μg/ml in pigeon macrophages. Hypothetically, intracellular trafficking of lipoproteins at higher concentrations may differ from uptake of lipoproteins associated with low ...

Endogenous GLP‐1 and exogenous GLP‐1 RAs activate GLP‐1R‐expressing vagal afferents in the portal vein, projecting to the nucleus tractus solitarius (NTS). This input engages brainstem–hypothalamic circuits that regulate metabolic homeostasis. Hypothalamic efferent vagal output to the liver suppresses lipogenesis, enhances triglyceride export, and ...
