Deficiency of the Very Low-Density Lipoprotein (VLDL) Receptors in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats: Insulin Dependency of the VLDL Receptor [PDF]

open access: yesEndocrinology, 2005
AbstractHyperlipidemia is a common feature of diabetes and is related to cardiovascular disease. The very low-density lipoprotein receptor (VLDL-R) is a member of the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDL-R) family. It binds and internalizes triglyceride-rich lipoproteins with high specificity.

Dual Functions of Dietary Rubber Seed Oil Supplementation: Enriching N‐3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity in Pekin Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.

Pathogenesis of the hypertriglyceridemia at early stages of alcoholic liver injury in the baboon.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1990
To study the mechanism of alcoholic hypertriglyceridemia, baboons were pair-fed liquid diets containing 50% of energy as ethanol or as additional carbohydrate for 5-16 months.

Lipid Metabolism and Comparative Genomics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Unilever asked the Study Group to focus on two problems. The first concerned dysregulated lipid metabolism which is a feature of many diseases including metabolic syndrome, obesity and coronary heart disease.

Phospholipids in lipoproteins: compositional differences across VLDL, LDL, and HDL in pregnant women [PDF]

open access: yesLipids in Health and Disease, 2019
The aim of this study was to analyse the differences in the phospholipid composition of very low density (VLDL), low density (LDL) and high density lipoprotein (HDL) monolayers in pregnant lean and obese women.LDL, HDL, and VLDL were isolated from plasma samples of 10 lean and 10 obese pregnant women, and their species composition of ...

Overview of Encapsulated Lysine and Methionine and Their Impacts on Transition Cow Performance and Health

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
The transition period in dairy cows, spanning 3 weeks before and after calving, is a critical phase characterized by increased nutrient demands, reduced dry matter intake (DMI), and elevated risk of metabolic disorders such as negative nutrient balance (NNB), lipolysis, proteolysis, and oxidative stress.

Metabolism of apoB-100 in lipoproteins separated by density gradient ultracentrifugation in normal and Watanabe heritable hyperlipidemic rabbits.

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1990
We have examined the capability of a previously developed compartmental model to explain the kinetics of radioiodinated apolipoprotein (apo) B-100 in very low density lipoproteins (VLDL), intermediate density lipoproteins (IDL), and low density ...

Plasma proteome correlates of lipid and lipoprotein: biomarkers of metabolic diversity and inflammation in children of rural Nepal. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Proteins involved in lipoprotein metabolism can modulate cardiovascular health. While often measured to assess adult metabolic diseases, little is known about the proteomes of lipoproteins and their relation to metabolic dysregulation and underlying ...

Exploring the Roles of Tuna‐Associated Acinetobacter sp. YFT067: Implications for Host Health and Metabolism

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study firstly isolated a tuna‐derived gut probiotic Acinetobacter seifertii YFT067. Dietary administration of YFT067 played significant roles in promoting growth performance, SCFAs production, lipid absorption, and metabolism of the host, indicating YFT067 as a promising probiotic candidate for enhancing tuna aquaculture productivity through ...
