Muon Absorption in Liquid Hydrogen [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1960
It is shown that it is possible to interpret the muon absorption rate in liquid hydrogen in terms of the basic (pn mu nu ) interaction. The main problem is to calculate the rate for the process: (p- mu -p) yields n+ nu +p in terms of muon absorption in atoms.

Technical and cost analysis of zero-emission high-speed ferries: Retrofitting from diesel to green hydrogen

open access: yesHeliyon
This paper proposes a technical and cost analysis model to assess the change in costs of a zero-emission high-speed ferry when retrofitting from diesel to green hydrogen. Both compressed gas and liquid hydrogen are examined.

Liquid organic hydrogen carrier hydrogenation–dehydrogenation

open access: yes, 2023
The continued selective focus on the exploitation of fossil fuel chemicals as one of the main environment-depleting sources of energy is one of the reasons for the carbon dioxide emissions, severe air pollution and market crisis of today. The related easy transition to efficient renewable resources also brings challenges, such as the storing of ...

A novel design approach: increase in storage and transport efficiency for liquid hydrogen by using a dual concept involving a steel-fiber composite tank and thermal sprayed insulating coatings

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
Wind power-to-gas concepts have a high potential to sustainably cover the increasing demand for hydrogen as an energy carrier and raw material, as it has been shown in the past that there is an enormous potential in energy overproduction, which currently

Boil-Off Gas Generation in Vacuum-Jacketed Valve Used in Liquid Hydrogen Storage Tank

open access: yesEnergies
The boiling point of liquid hydrogen is very low, at −253 °C under atmospheric pressure, which causes boil-off gas (BOG) to occur during storage and transport due to heat penetration.

Hydrogen Deuteride for Cold Neutron Production: A Model for the Double Differential Cross Section

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The present work deals with the modeling of the response to neutrons of heteronuclear diatomic liquids, with special interest in the case of hydrogen deuteride (HD), as a possible candidate for the moderation process required in the production of cold ...
