Fate of linoleic, arachidonic, and docosa-7,10,13,16-tetraenoic acids in rat testicles

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1973
A comparative study was made on the fate of linoleic, arachidonic, and docosa-7,10,13,16-tetraenoic acids in various subcellular fractions of liver and testis from rats of different ages.

Species Differences in Stereoselective Pharmacokinetics of HSG4112, A New Anti-Obesity Agent

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2020
HSG4112, a racemic drug, is a new anti-obesity agent. In this study, the stereoselective pharmacokinetics of HSG4112 were investigated in rats and dogs, and the underlying mechanism was investigated. The plasma concentrations of HSG4112(S) and HSG4112(R)

Microsomal Esterase of Rat Liver

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1969
Abstract Rat liver microsomal esterase has been purified 254-fold by a combination of solubilization in a mechanical cell homogenizer, acetone and ammonium sulfate precipitations, and hydroxylapatite column chromatography. The enzyme hydrolyzed glyceryl 1-monodecanoate at a rapid rate; the Km is 1.61 x 10-3 m.

EFFECT OF TRYPSIN ON LIVER MICROSOMES [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Cell Biology, 1963
The effect of trypsin on the morphology of the rat liver microsomal fraction isolated by differential centrifugation has been investigated. The microsomes were incubated at 37°C and centrifuged thereafter under the conditions of their initial isolation.

Identification and interspecies characterization of UDP-glucuronosyltransferase isoforms catalyzing acacetin glucuronidation using recombinant UGT enzymes and microsomes

open access: yesJournal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences, 2019
Objective: To explore the glucuronic acid metabolism of acacetin in human liver and intestinal microsomes to better characterize human uridine 5′-diphospho (UDP)-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT) isoforms. In addition, interspecies comparisons were performed

Qualification of Human Liver Microsomes for Antibacterial Activity Screening of Drug Metabolites

open access: yesApplied Microbiology, 2023
Microsomes are commonly used to perform in vitro drug metabolism, predominantly to form phase I drug metabolites. Pooled microsomes from multiple donors can contain microorganisms from underlying microbial diseases.

Regulation of hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase in rat leukocytes

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1977
Methods were developed for the assay of hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA reductase (NADPH) activity in microsomes from rat leukocytes. The activity in freshly isolated leukocytes is low compared to rat liver but can be assayed reliably. The patterns of response
