On total inelastic cross-sections and the average depth of the maximum of extensive air showers

open access: yes, 2003
The model dependence of the development of extensive air showers generated by high-energy cosmic-ray particles in the atmosphere is studied. The increase of proton-proton and proton-air inelastic cross-sections and values for the elasticity are varied in

FENCE: Flexible Electric Noise Reduction Endo‐Shield for the Suppression of Electromagnetic Interference in Low‐Field MRI

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 6, June 2026.
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a significant challenge for low‐field MRI. Traditional EMI mitigation approaches either limit portability or demand advanced hardware. We present FENCE (Flexible Electromagnetic Noise reduCtion Endo‐shield), a novel approach for EMI mitigation using flexible PCBs placed inside the RF coil.

Thermodynamics of the Anisotropic Spin-1/2 Heisenberg Chain and Related Quantum Chains

open access: yes, 1993
The free energy and correlation lengths of the spin-1/2 $XYZ$ chain are studied at finite temperature. We use the quantum transfer matrix approach and derive non-linear integral equations for all eigenvalues.

The thermal conductivity of the spin-1/2 XXZ chain at arbitrary temperature

open access: yes, 2001
Motivated by recent investigations of transport properties of strongly correlated 1d models and thermal conductivity measurements of quasi 1d magnetic systems we present results for the integrable spin-1/2 $XXZ$ chain.

Towards Establishing Shared Terminology for Person‐Centred Care: A Modified Delphi Study With Consumers and Health Professionals

open access: yesHealth Expectations, Volume 29, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Establishing shared terminology between health professionals and consumers is essential for truly embedding interdisciplinary person‐centred models of care. When discussing concepts related to person‐centred care, terminology differs amongst health professionals from different disciplines and program areas, and between health ...

Effect of pH on recovery efficiency and anthocyanin composition of Clitoria ternatea extracts with application as lipid antioxidants in food preservation

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
pH significantly affects the extraction efficiency of TPC TAC and the extracted anthocyanin components. pH 3 and pH 7 yield the highest extraction efficiency and antioxidant activity. Extracts at pH 7 are suitable as blue color additives for neutral pH foods and as good antioxidants for fat‐containing gummies.

Eicosapentaenoic and Docosahexaenoic Acid Levels in Mouse Tissues After Intake of Echium and Ahiflower Oils Rich in Stearidonic and α‐Linolenic Acids

open access: yesLipids, Volume 61, Issue 3, Page 417-426, May 2026.
Dietary supplementation with stearidonic acid–rich Echium and Ahiflower oils increases EPA levels across multiple mouse tissues, while DHA responses remain tissue‐specific and limited, supporting the strategic use of plant‐based omega‐3 sources for EPA‐focused interventions. ABSTRACT Omega‐3 fatty acids (n‐3 FA), particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)

Electromagnetic Noise Characterization and Suppression in Low‐Field MRI Systems

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 95, Issue 5, Page 3000-3007, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Our goal is to develop and validate a practical protocol that guides users in identifying and suppressing electromagnetic noise in low‐field MRI systems, enabling operation near the thermal noise limit. Methods We present a systematic, stepwise methodology that includes diagnostic measurements, hardware isolation strategies, and good ...
