Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Load-frequency regulation under a bilateral LFC scheme\ud using flexible neural networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
A new approach based on artificial Flexible Neural Networks (FNNs) is proposed to design of load frequency controller for a large scale power system in a deregulated environment.

ANFIS robust control application and analysis for load frequency control with nonlinearity

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Systems and Information Technology
This study investigates and demonstrates the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) controller performance on a dynamic system with inherent nonlinearity. Here, dynamics of automatic load frequency control is considered under this case.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

A series-parallel load-resonant converter for a controlled-current arc-welding power supply [PDF]

open access: yes
A power supply incorporating a series-parallel load-resonant converter, capable of very efficient operation over a wide range of output power is presented. The series-parallel load-resonant converter is shown to have three pairs of resonant frequencies.

A scenario on load-frequency controller design in a deregulated power system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
An approach based on mu-synthesis and analysis theory is proposed for the design of load frequency controller in response to the new technical control demand for power system in a deregulated environment.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

THE MODELLING OF ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEMS ON THE STATE SPACE AND CONTROLLING OF OPTIMAL LQR LOAD FREQUENCY

open access: yesElectrica, 2009
The modelling of electric power systems on the state space and an optimal control system known as Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) for designing the load frequency control system are realized in this paper. In order to obtain high quality electric energy

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.
