MDSC: Unsupervised Multipath Decomposition and Synergistic Correction for Efficient Low‐Light Image Enhancement with Detail‐Aware Smoothing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
This work proposes MDSC, an unsupervised low‐light enhancement framework integrating three core innovations: detail‐aware smoothing, multipath decomposition, and synergistic correction. It suppresses noise, handles rapid illumination variations, and prevents reflectance‐contrast amplification inherent to Retinex separation.

Stereoscopic Brightness Roll‐Off in Augmented Reality

open access: yesJournal of the Society for Information Display, Volume 34, Issue 3, Page 85-98, March 2026.
The increasing demand for power‐efficient immersive augmented reality (AR) displays has led to a growing need for effective power‐saving strategies. Here, the authors investigate for the first time the stereoscopic effectiveness of brightness roll‐off (BRO) for perceptually‐optimized power savings in AR.

Spot Anything: Subject‐Agnostic Background Matting

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper presents a subject‐agnostic background matting framework that accurately extracts subjects of any category by leveraging foreground‐background contrast in the feature domain. A Diff Detection Module enhances fine‐grained and small‐scale target detection, while a self‐supervised strategy employing the Segment Anything Model and inpainting ...

Entropy–Fidelity Optimization With Deep White‐Balance for Perceptually Consistent Low‐Light Image Enhancement

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Low‐light image enhancement is one of the fundamental challenges in computer vision, aiming to improve brightness, contrast, and color balance under insufficient illumination. In this work, we present a novel entropy–fidelity and deep white‐balance (EF–WB) framework that integrates information‐theoretic optimization with deep learning‐based color ...

A Critical Overview of Common Foodborne Toxicants and Methods for Their Reliable Detection

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 6, Issue 4, Page 1658-1700, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Food is an essential commodity for human health. However, toxicants such as mycotoxins, heavy metals, acrylamide, and pesticides can be present in food either naturally or through processing, packaging, or some anthropogenic activities. A thorough review of carefully selected studies revealed that climate change and pandemics have led to an ...

Position Calibration and Pixel Correction for Uneven Brightness Micro LED Display

open access: yesIET Circuits, Devices &Systems, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Due to process deviations (Devs) in Micro LEDs, the luminous efficiency of each individual Micro LED can differ. Consequently, this leads to uneven luminance across the Micro LED matrix panel. In this study, a correction algorithm is proposed with the aim of improving luminance inhomogeneity on the panel. The brightness value of each pixel point on the
