Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Nonintegrability, Chaos, and Complexity

open access: yes, 2000
Two-dimensional driven dissipative flows are generally integrable via a conservation law that is singular at equilibria. Nonintegrable dynamical systems are confined to n*3 dimensions.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

In a land far, far away: writing (in) French Polynesia

open access: yesMatraga, 2019
This article approaches, from a historical perspective, the contemporary literature of French Polynesia and the themes that are particular to it, a consequence of the complex relationship between the region and France.

Multiscale methods for problems with complex geometry

open access: yes, 2016
We propose a multiscale method for elliptic problems on complex domains, e.g. domains with cracks or complicated boundary. For local singularities this paper also offers a discrete alternative to enrichment techniques such as XFEM. We construct corrected

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...

Almost Global Stabilization of Curvature-Nullifiable Mechanical Systems via Pure Mechanical Feedback

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Mechanical control systems structure, derived from Euler–Lagrange dynamics, is directly tied to physically meaningful coordinates such as joint angles, positions, and velocities. This work investigates when a mechanical control system can be transformed,

Stratified Picard-Lefschetz Theory with Twisted Coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The monodromy action in the homology (generally with twisted coefficients) of complements of stratified complex analytic varieties depending on parameters is studied.

Geometric conditions for $\square$-irreducibility of certain representations of the general linear group over a non-archimedean local field

open access: yes, 2017
Let $\pi$ be an irreducible, complex, smooth representation of $GL_n$ over a local non-archimedean (skew) field. Assuming $\pi$ has regular Zelevinsky parameters, we give a geometric necessary and sufficient criterion for the irreducibility of the ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.
