Biomineralized Nanocomposite‐Integrated Microneedle Patch for Combined Brachytherapy and Photothermal Therapy in Postoperative Melanoma Recurrence and Infectious Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science
In the surgical management of malignant melanoma, incomplete tumor resection and large‐area cutaneous defects are major contributors to high locoregional recurrence and uncontrolled wound infections, resulting in poor prognosis and prolonged recovery ...

Iron‐Tannic Acid Hydrogel Mediated Mild Photothermal Therapy Combined With Ferroptosis Enhances Anti‐Tumor Immunity in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An injectable gelatin‐based tannic acid–iron hydrogel with mild photothermal therapy could not only induce immunogenic cell death, but also elicit ferroptosis of both tumor cells and tumor‐associated macrophages, resulting in DC maturation, T‐cell infiltration and down‐regulation of ferroptosis‐sensitive M2‐type TAMs levels.

Defect‐Engineered BiO2‐X Nanosheets Mediate Sono‐Thermomechanical ECM Remodeling for Hepatocellular Carcinoma Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, an ultrasound‐responsive BiO2‐X/siFn1 nanoplatform is developed to overcome anti‐PD‐1 resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma. Upon ultrasound irradiation, the platform downregulates fibronectin expression, while its sonothermal effect softens the dense extracellular matrix and activates antitumor immunity in the tumor microenvironment, thereby ...

A Technical Review On Hyperthermia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Hyperthermia has promising strategy to enhance apoptosis .The fundamental idea and the effects of heat oncancer cells are well known. However, the results obtained in therapy by hyperthermia (HT) alone have beenonly partially satisfactory.

Lower limb hyperthermia augments functional hyperaemia during small muscle mass exercise similarly in trained elderly and young humans

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, 2023
Heat and exercise therapies are recommended to improve vascular health across the lifespan. However, the haemodynamic effects of hyperthermia, exercise and their combination are inconsistent in young and elderly people.

Clinical results of irradiation combined with local hyperthermia [PDF]

open access: yesCancer, 1983
This report updates a previous publication describing the experience at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology with irradiation and hyperthermia in the treatment of superficial metastatic and recurrent malignant tumors. In a dose-seeking Phase I-II clinical study, a total of 101 lesions have been treated.
