A Review on the Application of In Vitro and In Vivo Models of Cancerous Tumors for the Study of the Hyperthermia Effect

open access: yesBasic & Clinical Cancer Research, 2019
Hyperthermia is a novel method for cancer therapy. To have the best control when heating tissues in  hyperthermia, the use of magnetic nanoparticles is suggested.

The Impact of Deep Local Lung Hyperthermia on COVID-19 Cancer Patients

open access: yesAdvanced Biomedical Research
Background: The goal of this study was to assess the impact of deep local hyperthermia on oxygen (O2) saturation and infected volumes of lungs on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cancer patients. Materials and Methods: Fifty patients who suffered from

Functional effects of mutations in the skeletal muscle ryanodine receptor type 1 (RYR1) linked to malignant hyperthermia and central core disease [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is a pharmacogenetic disorder with autosomal dominant inheritance. In susceptible individuals, a MH crisis may be triggered by commonly used halogenated anaesthetics (halothane, isoflurane) or muscle relaxants ...

Acoustically Activatable Drug‐Loaded Nanodroplets for Mechanochemical Therapy in Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microfluidically fabricated drug‐loaded nanodroplets are sequentially activated by dual‐frequency ultrasound through acoustic droplet vaporization followed by bubble collapse, enabling spatially controlled drug release and mechanical tumor fractionation, resulting in synergistic mechanochemotherapy and prolonged survival.

Heating technology for malignant tumors: a review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hyperthermia, 2020
The therapeutic application of heat is very effective in cancer treatment. Both hyperthermia, i.e., heating to 39–45 °C to induce sensitization to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and thermal ablation, where temperatures beyond 50 °C destroy tumor cells ...

Field‐Driven Active Colloids as Distributed Micromachines: Bridging Physics, Control, and Function Across Length Scales

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Field‐driven active colloids are framed as distributed micromachines in which externally supplied power, sensing, and control regulate task‐relevant states. By closing the loop between particle behavior, imaging, computation, and electric or magnetic actuation, these systems can progress from programmable motion toward adaptive functional outcomes ...

LOCAL HYPERTHERMIA IN THE COMBINED TREATMENT OF LOCALLY ADVANCED SOFT TISSUE SARCOMAS

open access: yesСибирский онкологический журнал, 2016
183 patients with locally advanced STS treated in MRRC were analyzed. In group 1 were included 107 patients who received preoperative thermo-chemo-radiotherapy (ТCRТ) and surgery (S).

Systemic antitumor effect by regional hyperthermia combined with low-dose chemotherapy and immunologic correlates in an adolescent patient with rhabdomyosarcoma – a case report

open access: yesInternational Journal of Hyperthermia, 2020
Introduction An abscopal effect is a clinical observation whereby a local treatment is associated with regression of metastatic cancer at a site distant from the primary location of treatment.

Management strategies of burns associated hyperthermia: A case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Introduction: Hyperthermia in the burn injured patient has been noted to exist either in the presence or absence of infection. However, there is a need to manage this feature aggressively as if left unmanaged; it might lead to other deleterious effects ...

Magnetic Thermal Ablation Combined with Temporally Coordinated CpG Immunotherapy Promotes cDC1‐Dependent Immune Priming in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Novel PLA@Fe3O4 magnetic microspheres were developed for transarterial magnetic hyperthermia ablation (MTA) of hepatocellular carcinoma. While destroying local tumors and inducing immunogenic cell death (ICD), MTA combined with early CpG adjuvant administration significantly promotes cDC1‐dependent immune priming. This synergistic mechanism effectively
