Comparing sensitivity analysis methods to advance lumped watershed model identification and evaluation [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2007
This study seeks to identify sensitivity tools that will advance our understanding of lumped hydrologic models for the purposes of model improvement, calibration efficiency and improved measurement schemes. Four sensitivity analysis methods were tested: (

Error Estimation for the Linearized Auto-Localization Algorithm

open access: yesSensors, 2012
The Linearized Auto-Localization (LAL) algorithm estimates the position of beacon nodes in Local Positioning Systems (LPSs), using only the distance measurements to a mobile node whose position is also unknown.

Political football [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Much has been written in recent years about governance in the areas of political science, public policy, local government and international relations. However, little research effort has been devoted to examining the term in relation to the organisation,

NKCC1: A key regulator of glioblastoma progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) progression is driven by disrupted chloride cotransporter homeostasis. NKCC1 is highly expressed in stem‐like, astrocytic, and progenitor cells, correlating with earlier recurrence, while overall survival remains unaffected. NKCC1 serves as a prognostic marker and potential therapeutic target, linking chloride transporter imbalance ...

Adaptive Nonparametric Clustering

open access: yes, 2017
This paper presents a new approach to non-parametric cluster analysis called Adaptive Weights Clustering (AWC). The idea is to identify the clustering structure by checking at different points and for different scales on departure from local homogeneity.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Local and global sensitivity analysis for a prediction model of nitrogen loss in Southern China’s paddy fields via HYDRUS-1D

open access: yesScientific Reports
Nitrogen loss in paddy fields has been widely recognized as a significant contributor to nonpoint source pollution. Predicting this process through modeling is crucial, yet model parameters always carry uncertainty.

Local sensitivity analysis for Bayesian inverse problems

open access: yes
We present an extension of local sensitivity analysis, also referred to as the perturbation approach for uncertainty quantification, to Bayesian inverse problems. More precisely, we show how moments of random variables with respect to the posterior distribution can be approximated efficiently by asymptotic expansions.

Analysis of airfoil leading edge separation bubbles [PDF]

open access: yes
A local inviscid-viscous interaction technique was developed for the analysis of low speed airfoil leading edge transitional separation bubbles. In this analysis an inverse boundary layer finite difference analysis is solved iteratively with a Cauchy ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.
