Dependent Coeffects for Local Sensitivity Analysis

open access: yesProceedings of the ACM on Programming Languages
Differential privacy is a formal definition of privacy that bounds the maximum acceptable information leakage when a query is performed on sensitive data. To ensure this property, a key technique involves bounding the query’s sensitivity (how much input variations affect the output) and adding noise to the result according to this quantity. While prior

Venous Thromboembolism in Pediatric Bone Sarcoma Patients: A 10‐Year, Single‐Institution Experience Encompassing the COVID‐19 Pandemic

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Osteosarcoma (OS) and Ewing sarcoma (EWS) are the most common primary bone cancers in children, but acute thrombosis is poorly characterized in this population. Our study evaluated the rates of venous thromboembolism (VTE) and associated risk factors in pediatric patients with bone sarcomas treated over a 10‐year period encompassing

Effect of Inter-Well Interactions on Non-Linear Beam Splitters for Matter-Wave Interferometers

open access: yesCondensed Matter, 2020
We study the non-linear beam splitter in matter-wave interferometers using ultracold quantum gases in a double-well configuration in presence of non-local interactions inducing inter-well density-density coupling, as they can be realized, e.g., with ...

Global stability dynamics and sensitivity assessment of COVID-19 with timely-delayed diagnosis in Ghana

open access: yesComputational and Mathematical Biophysics, 2022
In this paper, we study the dynamical effects of timely and delayed diagnosis on the spread of COVID-19 in Ghana during its initial phase by using reported data from March 12 to June 19, 2020. The estimated basic reproduction number, ℛ0, for the proposed

Heterogeneity in the Global Practice of Central Nervous System Staging in Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is assessed by cell counting and cytomorphology from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and is used for treatment stratification worldwide. The ratio of “CNS2” patients in clinical trials ranges from 3% to 40%, with unclear prognostic significance ...

Testing of NH3/H2 and NH3/syngas combustion mechanisms using a large amount of experimental data

open access: yesApplications in Energy and Combustion Science, 2023
A possible solution to improve the combustion properties of ammonia is to blend it with other fuels. Two of the most usually used co-fuels are hydrogen and syngas (H2/CO). To investigate the chemistry of the co-combustion with these fuels, a large amount

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A Methodological Framework for Optimizing Palm-Based Soap Formulations Using Deep Neural Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access
This paper proposes a design framework for palm-based soap formulations that predicts key properties, melting point (MP), fatty acid profile, and cost, with high fidelity and direct applicability in industrial plants.
