Magnetic Source Detection Using an Array of Planar Hall Effect Sensors and Machine Learning Algorithms

open access: yesApplied Sciences
We use an array of nine elliptical Planar Hall Effect (PHE) sensors and machine learning algorithms to map the magnetic signal generated by a magnetic source. Based on the obtained mapping, the location and nature of the magnetic source can be determined.

Localization-delocalization transition for drift diffusion in a random environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We investigate the localization-delocalization transition for the drift-diffusion equation on a regular tree with quenched random drift velocities on its branches.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A Scalable Medical Devices Localization Service Modeling

open access: yes, 2018
Medical applications of telemetry continue to evolve with the demand for real time networked medical data, and with minimum intrusion to the mobility of the patient.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Preoperative Localization for Non-Palpable Breast Lesions

open access: yesJournal of Surgical Ultrasound
Advances in breast imaging have increased the detection of non-palpable breast lesions, making the accurate localization of these lesions for surgery increasingly important.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Ontology localization

open access: yesProceedings of the fifth international conference on Knowledge capture, 2009
nternational organizations (e.g., FAO1 , WHO2 , etc.) are increasingly expressing the need for multilingual ontologies for di®erent purposes, e.g., ontology-based multilingual machine translation, multilingual informa- tion retrieval. However, most of the ontologies built so far have mainly English or another natural language as basis.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.
