An Overview of P $$\rho $$ Log

This paper describes P\(\rho \)Log: a tool that combines Prolog with the \(\rho \)Log calculus. Such a combination brings strategy-controlled conditional transformation rules into logic programming. They operate on sequences of terms. Transformations may lead to several results, which can be explored by backtracking.

Metabolic P systems, shortly MP systems, are a special class of P systems, introduced for expressing biological metabolism. Their dynamics are computed by metabolic algorithms which transform populations of objects according to a mass partition principle, based on suitable generalizations of chemical laws.

A locally analytic function \(G_p\) on \(\mathbb C_p-\mathbb Z_p\) is defined. \(G_p\) satisfies relations similar to the standard formulas for log gamma (example: \(G_p(x+1)=G_p(x)+\log x\), \(G_p(x)+G_p(1-x)=0\), \dots), but \(G_p\) is not the log of Morita's gamma function \(\Gamma_p\).
