Trigonometric Parallaxes of Star Forming Regions in the Scutum Spiral Arm

open access: yes, 2014
We report measurements of trigonometric parallaxes for six high-mass star-forming regions in the Scutum spiral arm of the Milky Way as part of the BeSSeL Survey.

A Data Driven Review of In Vitro Electrical and Mechanical Stimulation for Post‐Acute Phase Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how in vitro electrical and mechanical stimulation modulates wound healing in fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Analyzing over 560 experimental data points, we relate stimulation parameters to proliferation and migration outcomes, evaluate platform designs, and highlight the need for multi‐parameter optimization to advance targeted ...

A basis for the analysis of surface geometry of spiral bevel gears [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
Geometrical procedures helpful in the fundamental studies of the surface geometry of spiral bevel gears are summarized. These procedures are based upon: (1) fundamental gear geometry and kinematics as exposited by Buckingham, et al; (2) formulas ...

Transient Charging of Mixed Ionic‐Electronic Conductors by Anomalous Diffusion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This article explores charge transport in mixed ionic‐electronic conductors (MIECs) through electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and transient current analysis. Focusing on PEDOT:PSS, WO3, and n‐doped PBDF, it uncovers the impact of anomalous diffusion via fractional modeling. The study reveals key correlations that deepen understanding and guide the

Study on the Motion Law of Logarithmic Spiral Type Cam Mechanism

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2015
The solid models of the logarithmic spiral cam mechanism and common cam mechanism are established by using SolidWorks, and the kinematics simulation is carried out. Then,by using the software of ANSYS / LS-DYNA,the dynamics analysis of the two kinds of cam

Improved Ant Lion Optimizer Based on Spiral Complex Path Searching Patterns

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO) is a new meta-heuristic algorithm that simulates the ant lion predator mechanism in nature. Five main steps of hunting include: random walks of ants, building traps, trapping in antlion's pits, sliding ants towards antlion ...

LOGARITHMIC SPIRAL LIGHT PIPE FOR SCINTILLATORS [PDF]

open access: yes, 1960
A prccedure is described for designing and making logarithmic spiral light pipes which are to be used in coupling scintillators to photomultipliers in cases where the scintillator must be placed in a strong magnetic field. (C.J.G.)

Engineered Protein‐Based Ionic Conductors for Sustainable Energy Storage Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rational incorporation of charged residues into an engineered, self‐assembling protein scaffold yields solid‐state protein films with outstanding ionic conductivity. Salt‐doping further enhances conductivity, an effect amplified in the engineered variants. These properties enable the material integration into an efficient supercapacitor.

Scalable Automated Detection of Spiral Galaxy Arm Segments

open access: yes, 2014
Given an approximately centered image of a spiral galaxy, we describe an entirely automated method that finds, centers, and sizes the galaxy and then automatically extracts structural information about the spiral arms. For each arm segment found, we list
