Ground‐truthing of satellite imagery to assess seabird colony size: A test using Adélie penguins
Remote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.Adélie penguin colony size can be estimated from space using very high‐resolution (VHR; 0.3–0.6 m resolution) satellite imagery due to the contrast between their guano stain and the surrounding terrain. Our study assessed the utility of VHR imagery for making indirect assessments of changes in colony size.

Highly accurate range-adaptive lognormal approximation to lognormal sum distributions
Electronics Letters, 2006 The distribution of the sum of independent non-identical lognormal variates is approximated by a lognormal distribution the parameters of which are suitably varied over the range of probabilities. The new method is highly accurate and keeps track of the exact sum distribution, outperforming previous lognormal approximations.

Small Methods, EarlyView.Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were successfully debundled from Tuball soots produced using iron nanocatalysts in arc discharge thermal plasma and distributed on monolayer graphene for HRTEM imaging for mechanistic insights into CNT synthesis.
