Gas Test Loop Functional and Technical Requirements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This document defines the technical and functional requirements for a gas test loop (GTL) to be constructed for the purpose of providing a high intensity fast-flux irradiation environment for developers of advanced concept nuclear reactors. This capability is needed to meet fuels and materials testing requirements of the designers of Generation IV (GEN

Observer-based distributed optimization for linear multiagent systems with external disturbances

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis
This paper addresses the distributed optimization problem in linear multiagent systems (MASs) under external disturbances. Firstly, an observation system is designed by utilizing the output values of agents, which can eliminate external disturbances of ...

Infant Embryonal CNS Tumors: Molecular Insights and Treatment Considerations for Contemporary Pediatric Neuro‐Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Embryonal tumors comprise the majority of malignant central nervous system (CNS) neoplasms diagnosed in children under 3 years of age. Compared with their counterparts in older children, these tumors exhibit distinct molecular biology and a more aggressive clinical phenotype, while their management is complicated by the heightened ...

Modified arthroscopic intra-articular transtendinous looped biceps tenodesis leads to satisfactory functional outcomes and less frequent Popeye deformity compared to biceps tenotomy

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2023
Purpose The present study aimed to propose a modified intra-articular transtendinous looped biceps tenodesis (mTLBT) using a suture anchor and to compare the functional outcomes and incidence of Popeye deformities between biceps tenotomy and mTLBT ...

The Dynamics of miR-449a/c Expression during Uterine Cycles Are Associated with Endometrial Development

open access: yesBiology, 2022
The human endometrium is a highly dynamic tissue. Increasing evidence has shown that microRNAs (miRs) play essential roles in human endometrium development.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Mixed-Delay-Dependent Augmented Functional for Synchronization of Uncertain Neutral-Type Neural Networks with Sampled-Data Control

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this paper, the synchronization problem of uncertain neutral-type neural networks (NTNNs) with sampled-data control is investigated. First, a mixed-delay-dependent augmented Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional (LKF) is proposed, which not only considers ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

The Functional Significance of Cardiac Looping: Comparative Embryology, Anatomy, and Physiology of the Looped Design of Vertebrate Hearts

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Development and Disease
The flow path of vertebrate hearts has a looped configuration characterized by curved (sigmoid) and twisted (chiral) components. The looped heart design is phylogenetically conserved among vertebrates and is thought to represent a significant determinant
