Fish That Fish for Fish—A Peculiar Location of “Fishing Motoneurons” in the Striated Frogfish Antennarius striatus

The first dorsal fin of frogfish is used to attract fish as prey and not involved in swimming. Motoneurons for the first dorsal fin (fishing motoneurons) are distributed in the dorsolateral zone of ventral horn, while those for the second, third, and fourth dorsal fins of frogfish, and first dorsal fin of filefish are present in the ventrolateral zone.
