Pharmacogenomic Calling From Whole‐Exome Sequencing in the Taiwanese Population—A Real‐World Experience

open access: yesMolecular Genetics &Genomic Medicine, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
This study evaluated pharmacogenomic (PGx) calling from whole‐exome sequencing (WES) in 3562 Taiwanese individuals. Fourteen pharmacogenes were reliably identified, with each person carrying an average of ~2.4 actionable phenotypes. The high actionable frequencies of G6PD deficiency and HLA‐B*58:01 highlight ethnic differences and support WES as a ...

Comparison between lornoxicam quick-release and parecoxib for post-operative analgesia after laparoscopic cholecystectomy: A prospective randomized, placebo-controlled trial

open access: yesJournal of Anaesthesiology Clinical Pharmacology, 2013
Background: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are valuable for post-operative pain as they reduce the use of opioids. Cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitors and traditional NSAIDs can be used. This is a prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled trial

French‐Speaking Network of Pharmacogenetics (RNPGx) Recommendations for Gene Panel Analysis Through Genotyping or Sequencing in Pharmacogenetics

open access: yesFundamental &Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 40, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The implementation of pharmacogenetics in clinical practice increasingly relies on multigene panels. Objectives The objective of this study is to develop harmonized recommendations for the design and analytical implementation of multigene pharmacogenetic panels, defining clinically relevant genes and associated regions of interest ...

Organotin‐Drug Interactions. Organotin Adducts of Lornoxicam, Synthesis and Characterisation of the First Complexes of Lornoxicam

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, 2003
AbstractThe synthesis and spectral characterisation of novel organotin complexes [SnMe2(lorn)] (1) and [SnBu2(lorn)] (2) of the potent and widely used anti‐inflammatory drug lornoxicam, H2lorn, are reported. Crystal structure determinations of complexes1 and 2 showed that the ligand is doubly deprotonated at the oxygen and amide nitrogen atoms and is ...

Biopolymer‐Based Encapsulation Approach: The Effect of Sea Buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) Oil Carried by Chitosan on Fish Fillet Quality

open access: yesJournal of Food Quality, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
In this study, the effects of chitosan (Ch) coatings encapsulated using an ultrasonic emulsification method with sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) essential oil (HrEo) on the shelf life and quality parameters of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) fillets, in terms of microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory properties, were investigated.

Intoxication by Lornoxicam in Two Dogs

open access: yesActa Scientiae Veterinariae, 2016
Background: The indiscriminate use of drugs is routinely observed in the field of veterinary medicine. Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are the class of drugs that most commonly cause intoxication in pet animals. Lornoxicam, an NSAID, is a cyclooxygenase COX-1 and COX-2 inhibitor and is only recommended for human treatment.

ROS‐Responsive Thioketal–Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles Codelivering Saikosaponin D Suppress Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastasis by Boosting Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesJournal of Nanotechnology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Background Colorectal cancer (CRC) often metastasizes to the liver, which complicates treatment strategies. This study evaluates MSN–TK@SA, a mesoporous silica nanoparticle (MSN) loaded with saikosaponin D (SA) and reactive oxygen species (ROS)–cleaving thioketal (TK), as a targeted approach for CRC metastasis.

Use of Drugs With Actionable Pharmacogenetic Biomarkers and Possible Prescribing Changes Among Older People

open access: yesJournal of the American Geriatrics Society, Volume 73, Issue 12, Page 3679-3689, December 2025.
This graphical abstract illustrates the annual prevalence of exposure to CPIC Level A drugs among older adults, categorized by type of pharmacogenetic recommendation. Data are presented per 1000 older individuals (A) and per 1000 prescriptions (B).
