Worst case analysis for a general class of on-line lot-sizing heuristics.

open access: yes
In this paper we analyze the worst case performance of heuristics for the classical economic lot-sizing problem with time-invariant cost parameters. We consider a general class of on-line heuristics that is often applied in a rolling horizon environment.

Differential evolution to solve the lot size problem. [PDF]

open access: yes
An Advanced Resource Planning model is presented to support optimal lot size decisions for performance improvement of a production system in terms of either delivery time or setup related costs. Based on a queueing network, a model is developed for a mix

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

An Improved WAGNER-WHITIN Algorithm

open access: yesInternational Journal of Industrial Engineering and Production Research, 2009
We present an improved implementation of the Wagner-Whitin algorithm for economic lot-sizing problems based on the planning-horizon theorem and the Economic- Part-Period concept.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Optimal selection of cotton warp sizing parameters under system research limitation

open access: yesSistemnì Doslìdženâ ta Informacìjnì Tehnologìï
Warp sizing is the process of applying the sizing agents to the warp yarn to improve its weavability along with improving the economic performance of weaving.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
