The effect of antihypertensive treatment on longitudinal changes in PLGF and sFlt‐1 in women with new onset hypertension in pregnancy

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
In pregnant women with new‐onset hypertension starting antihypertensives, some achieve tight BP control within a week (Group 1‐blue line), while others respond slower (Group 2‐red line). Group 1 showed higher Log10PLGF levels, but Log10sFlt‐1 did not differ between groups. Over time, Log10PLGF declined in both groups, while Log10sFlt‐1 remained stable.

Priming of labor with tafoxiparin in nulliparous term pregnant women with unripe cervix—Proof‐of‐concept and dose‐finding results from a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
This study shows that tafoxiparin 300 mg can increase the rate of cervical ripening and the likelihood of spontaneous onset of labor, while also reducing the duration of labor in women achieving spontaneous onset of labor. The favorable safety profile of tafoxiparin suggests suitability for routine clinical use, including home administration.

The Impact of Obesity on Durable Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
14 100 LVAD patients across 21 studies were analyzed. Findings indicated that obese LVAD recipients had lower short‐term mortality and higher risk of infection, thrombosis and right heart failure. There was no difference in long‐term survival between obese and non‐obese patients.
