Study on design characteristics of airfoil pressure distribution for low Mach number general aircraft

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2023
This paper studies several problems that may exist in the aerodynamic design of low Mach number general aircraft, and discusses the design characteristics of the pressure distribution of some related airfoils while part of the characteristics is verified

Low Mach Number Flows and Combustion [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2006
We prove uniform existence results for the full Navier-Stokes equations for time intervals which are independent of the Mach number, the Reynolds number and the Péclet number. We consider general equations of state and we give an application for the low Mach number limit combustion problem introduced by Majda.

Bubble Expansion Computations at Low-Mach Number Regime [PDF]

open access: yes14th WCCM-ECCOMAS Congress, 2021
A 1D bubble expansion problem is solved using standard compressible methods whose numerical solutions are compared with the exact low-Mach solution of the problem. The low Mach solution is proved to provide a very good approximation of the grid-converged compressible solution for a weak expansion and an envelope solution for the strong expansion.

Modified Gamma-Based Model for Solving Low Mach Number Compressible Two Phase Flows

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2013
This paper presents some modifications of the gamma-based model developed by K.M. Shyue (J. Comput. Phys., 1998, 142, 208-242). In deriving process of the original model, pressure equilibrium and an isentropic condition are not involved explicitly ...

High order semi-implicit weighted compact nonlinear scheme for the all-Mach isentropic Euler system

open access: yesAdvances in Aerodynamics, 2020
The computation of compressible flows at all Mach numbers is a very challenging problem. An efficient numerical method for solving this problem needs to have shock-capturing capability in the high Mach number regime, while it can deal with stiffness and ...

Sound attenuation in high mach number oscillating bubble media

open access: yesUltrasonics Sonochemistry, 2023
We study theoretically and numerically sound attenuation in bubble-containing media when the bubbles are freely oscillating at high Mach numbers. This paper expands one of the main forms of bubble-related acoustic damping factors by extending the ...

On a diphasic low mach number system [PDF]

open access: yesESAIM: Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Analysis, 2005
The author proposes a diphasic low Mach number (DLMN) system for the modelling of diphasic flows at low Mach number. This system filters out the acoustic waves but keeps all the informations coming from the thermodynamic as the equations of state and the entropy contrary to a standard incompressible diphasic Navier-Stokes system.

Sound radiated from low Mach number turbulent boundary layer flows(Turbulent boundary layer on a smooth plate and over a small forward facing step)

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2021
High-resolution numerical simulation has been performed to study aeroacoustic noise radiated from a turbulent boundary layer at freestream Mach number Ma = 0.3, which develops on a smooth flat plate and over a small forward-facing step.

On the Low Mach Number Limit for the Compressible Euler System [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2019
In this paper, we propose a new approach to singular limits of inviscid fluid flows based on the concept of dissipative measure-valued solutions. We show that dissipative measure-valued solutions of the compressible Euler equations converge to the smooth solution of the incompressible Euler system when the Mach number tends to zero. This holds both for
