Essential lipid autacoids rewire mitochondrial energy efficiency in metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Increased liver content of DHA‐derived small lipid autacoids (i.e resolvin D1 and maresin 1) associates with enhanced mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, fatty acid β‐oxidation and bioenergetic metabolic flux. These features provide hepatic protection from steatotic, pro‐inflammatory and fibrogenic insults.

Acyl chain-dependent effect of lysophosphatidylcholine on endothelial prostacyclin production[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2010
Previously we identified palmitoyl-lysophosphatidylcholine (16:0 LPC), linoleoyl-LPC (18:2 LPC), arachidonoyl-LPC (20:4 LPC), and oleoyl-LPC (18:1 LPC) as the most prominent LPC species generated by the action of endothelial lipase (EL) on high-density ...

Elevated Serum Lysophosphatidylcholine in Patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Impairs Phagocytosis of Necrotic Cells In Vitro

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
ObjectivesImpaired clearance of dying and dead cells by professional and amateur phagocytes plays a crucial role in the etiology of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).

Lysophosphatidylcholine Alleviates Acute Lung Injury by Regulating Neutrophil Motility and Neutrophil Extracellular Trap Formation

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2022
Sepsis is predominantly initiated by bacterial infection and can cause systemic inflammation, which frequently leads to rapid death of the patient. However, this acute systemic inflammatory response requires further investigation from the perspectives of

PPARα activation promotes liver progenitor cell-mediated liver regeneration by suppressing YAP signaling in zebrafish

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Despite the robust regenerative capacity of the liver, prolonged and severe liver damage impairs liver regeneration, leading to liver failure. Since the liver co-opts the differentiation of liver progenitor cells (LPCs) into hepatocytes to restore ...

Efficient LPC vocoder [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1975
Of primary interest in any method for producing synthetic speech is to minimize the number of bits per second required to generate acceptable quality speech. An efficient method for transmitting the linear prediction parameters has been obtained by using the techniques of differential PCM.

Urinary felinine excretion in intact male cats is increased by dietary cystine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Felinine is a branched-chain sulfur amino acid present in the urine of certain Felidae, including domestic cats. The objective of the present study was to determine if additional cystine and/or dietary N would increase felinine and N-acetylfelinine ...
