A Southpaw Joins the Roster: The Role of the Zebrafish nodal-related Gene Southpaw in Cardiac LR Asymmetry

Trends in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2004
The establishment of the left-right (LR) asymmetry of the zebrafish heart involves at least two discrete events: cardiac jogging and cardiac looping. The nodal-related gene southpaw is required for both aspects of heart LR asymmetry as well as for LR patterning of other visceral organs.

[The effects of microcystin-LR on the mRNA expression levels of base excision repair genes and genes related to apoptosis].

Zhonghua lao dong wei sheng zhi ye bing za zhi = Zhonghua laodong weisheng zhiyebing zazhi = Chinese journal of industrial hygiene and occupational diseases, 2012
To explore the effects of microcystin-LR (MCLR) on the expression of base excision repair genes and genes related to apoptosis. The BRL-3A cells were exposed to different concentrations of MCLR for various periods of time and the cell viability was measured by MTT.

SCREENING OF WHEAT LR-GENES FOR RESISTANCE TO PUCCINIA TRITICINA IN THE NORTH CAUCASUS REGION CONDITIONS

Vestnik of the Russian agricultural science, 1970
Currently, more than 70 wheat rust resistance genes are known, but few of them are effective. The purpose of this work is to screen lines of Lr gene carriers for resistance to leaf rust under conditions of the North Caucasus region. Investigations were carried out in 2016-2018 at the infectious site of VNIIBZR.

Pathogenic bacteria contribute to antibiotic resistance genes dissemination in microcystin-LR exposed intestine of zebrafish

Journal of Hazardous Materials
Cyanobacterial blooms and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) in aquatic ecosystems are emerging public health concerns. Microcystin-LR (MC-LR), a representative cyanotoxin released from cyanobacterial blooms, has poorly understood mechanisms regarding its influence on the dissemination of ARGs.

Virulence of some Puccinia triticina races to the effective wheat leaf rust resistant genes Lr 9 and Lr 19 under Egyptian field conditions

Physiological and Molecular Plant Pathology, 2018
Abstract Leaf rust (Puccinia triticina Eriks.) is one of the most widespread disease of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in Egypt and worldwide. The two leaf rust resistance genes i.e. Lr 9 and Lr 19 were previously highly effective against the predominant Puccinia triticina races in Egypt.
