Abstract INTRODUCTION Epigenome‐wide association studies implicate DNA methylation in Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathology. Although recent studies identified epigenetic signatures within non‐neuronal cell types in disease risk, the role of the methylome in glial cell types (i.e., astrocytes, oligodendrocytes) in biological aging and AD pathogenesis is ...

Progressive BBB/BSCB dysfunction is increasingly recognized as both a pathological feature and a therapeutic barrier in ALS. Novel delivery technologies and barrier‐restoration strategies may enhance CNS drug exposure, improve the efficacy of disease‐modifying therapies, and advance ALS treatment. ABSTRACT Background Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)

Model for how α‐syn modulates the positioning of endolysosomes in melanoma cells. (a) α‐syn tethers endolysosomes to the plasma membrane, a last step in anterograde transport. (b) Loss of α‐syn expression causes the loss of the tethering function, which leads to perinuclear vesicle clustering. Reproduced from the open access article.

N-term-LRRK2 is more insoluble than WT-LRRK2 in SH-SY5Y cells.
SH-SY5Y cells were transfected with EGFP-LRRK2 (WT, N-term, C-term) or HA-LRRK2 (WT, N-term) constructs and harvested 16 h later. Cells were lysed and fractionated as described in the Methods followed by western blot analysis.

Cell Death in Neurodegenerative Diseases: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targets
Regulated cell death pathways, including apoptosis, necroptosis, pyroptosis, ferroptosis, and autophagy‐dependent cell death, interact with mitochondrial dysfunction, proteostasis failure, lysosomal stress, glial remodeling, and neuroinflammation across major neurodegenerative diseases.

Abstract Background LRRK2‐Parkinson's disease (LRRK2‐PD) is biologically heterogeneous with approximately 30% lacking aggregated alpha synuclein (αSyn) in cerebrospinal fluid by seed amplification assay (SAA). Prior work has suggested slower progression in LRRK2‐PD compared to sporadic PD (sPD).

The Global Parkinson's Disease Genetics (GP2) Genome Browser
Abstract Background Large‐scale sequencing initiatives have generated extensive genomic resources essential for variant interpretation, yet their effective use often requires bioinformatics expertise. To support identification of Parkinson's disease (PD) risk and disease‐causing variants, we developed an open‐access, summary‐level genomic data browser.
