All‐Optically Controlled Synapse‐Based Neuromorphic Vision System for Bioinformation Recognition

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A highly reproducibility all‐optically controlled synapse is demonstrated, where optically controlled bidirectional synaptic plasticity is achieved by simply connecting ZnO (exhibiting reliable positive photoconductance) and Cs2CoCl4 (showing reliable negative photoconductance) in series without requiring additional voltage modulation.

Neuronal THY1 Signaling Maintains Astrocytes in a Quiescent State

open access: yesGlia, EarlyView.
THY1‐bearing neurons keep astrocytes in a quiescent state via the interaction with ITGB1. Depletion of THY1 supports the development of a partially activated astrocyte phenotype. Neuronal THY1 is involved in the maintenance and restoration of tissue homeostasis in the brain. ABSTRACT THY1 is a cell surface protein of mature neurons.
