Effect of Melatonin on the Luteinizing Hormone Release Induced by Clomiphene and Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1976
The effect of melatonin on the LH-release response after the administration of synthetic LH-RH and clomiphene citrate was investigated in adult male rats. The sc administration of melatonin (1 mg/day) for 6 days produced a significant decrease in serum LH levels and in seminal vesicles and ventral prostate weights.

Identification of crucial genes for polycystic ovary syndrome and atherosclerosis through comprehensive bioinformatics analysis and machine learning

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To identify potential biomarkers in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and atherosclerosis, and to explore the common pathologic mechanisms between these two diseases in response to the increased risk of cardiovascular diseases in patients with PCOS.

On the function of arginine in luteinizing hormone‐releasing hormone [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1977
Many analogs of luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LH-RH) have been recently synthesized in order to investigate the significance of the various constituent amino acids in hormonal activity [ 1 ] . Assessments of the capacity of analogs to stimulate release of LH and FSH have revealed that arginine in position 8 on the peptide chain is critical for

Spontaneous conception and pregnancy outcomes after multi‐agent chemotherapy and high‐dose radiotherapy for pelvic Ewing sarcoma: Case report and literature review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, EarlyView.
Abstract Ewing sarcoma is an aggressive, rare bone and soft tissue malignancy, often affecting the long bones and pelvis. A woman was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma of the left pelvis at 18 years of age. She underwent left paravesical lesion resection with ipsilateral ureteral reimplantation and received combined multi‐agent chemotherapy and high‐dose ...

Pregnancy via Testicular Sperm Extraction for Anejaculation After Neuroblastoma Surgery

open access: yesIJU Case Reports, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Surgical treatment of a neuroblastoma, a malignant tumor of the sympathetic nervous system, may result in ejaculatory disorder. There are no reports examining ejaculation disorders after neuroblastoma surgery. Case Presentation The patient was a 31‐year‐old Japanese male who had undergone surgery for neuroblastoma of the abdomen at ...

Sex‐specific associations of Roseburia with uric acid metabolism and hyperuricemia risk in females

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
Researchers recruited 623 participants, including 270 females, and used 16S rDNA sequencing to investigate gender differences in hyperuricemia. In healthy females, Roseburia was enriched, positively correlating with estrogen and negatively with uric acid, suggesting it is a potential biomarker affecting uric acid levels in females.

Soyasaponin and vertical microbial transmission: Maternal effect on the intestinal development and health of early chicks

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
This study investigates the vertical transmission of maternal microbiota in chickens and how it is modulated by maternal soyasaponin supplementation. Using a model spanning the reproductive tract, egg components, and developing chicks, we show that maternal gut and reproductive microbiota, including Bifidobacterium adolescentis (B.

Receptors for luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone. [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Histochemistry & Cytochemistry, 1978
Antisera to luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LH-RH) confer on Araldite sections of occasional rat pituitaries moderate immunocytochemical staining to the large secretory granules of gonadotrophs. Treatment of the sections with LH-RH before anti-LH-RH yields strong staining in all animals, irrespective of presence or absence of staining without ...

Systematic in‐hospital screening and treatment for osteoporosis in a geriatric population with hip fractures

open access: yesJournal of Hospital Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Low‐trauma fractures of the hip signify osteoporosis and increase the risk of a second fracture. However, screening for secondary osteoporosis and initiating osteoporosis treatment can be challenging in a geriatric population.
