A Coordinated LVRT Control for a PMSG Wind Turbine

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2017
Abstract This paper proposes a coordinated controller for a permanent-magnet synchronous generator wind turbine to enhance its low voltage ride through capability. In the proposed method, both rotor side and grid side converters are cooperatively controlled to regulate the DC link voltage during the grid fault.

Impact of Grid Impedance on LVRT Performance of DFIG System With Rotor Crowbar Technology

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Nowadays, most of the doubly fed induction generators (DFIGs) are equipped with rotor crowbar for the requirement of low voltage ride through (LVRT). The crowbar resistance is an important parameter, and it is selected taking rotor overcurrent and dc ...

Investigation and Enhancement of Stability in Grid-Connected Converter-Based Distributed Generation Units With Dynamic Loads

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Medium-voltage distributed generation (DG) units can be subjected to a high penetration level of dynamic loads, such as induction motor (IM) loads. The highly nonlinear IM dynamics that couple active power, reactive power, voltage, and supply frequency ...

LVRT Research of PMSG Wind Turbine Using Feedback Linearization

open access: yesEnergy and Power Engineering, 2013
Analyzing the wind turbine with a direct-driven PMSG, this paper proposes a low voltage ride through scheme of PMSG wind power systems based on feedback linearization. The DC-Link voltage is controlled by the generator-side converter rather than the grid-side converter.
