Multi‐Objective Robust Controller Synthesis With Integral Quadratic Constraints in Discrete‐Time
ABSTRACT This article presents a novel framework for the robust controller synthesis problem in discrete‐time systems using dynamic Integral Quadratic Constraints (IQCs). We present an algorithm to minimize closed‐loop performance measures such as the ℋ∞$$ {\mathscr{H}}_{\infty } $$‐norm, the energy‐to‐peak gain, the peak‐to‐peak gain, or a ...

Stability analysis of N-D discrete state–space systems
Several stability criteria for N-dimensional linear shift-invariant discrete systems described in the state–space model are presented. The criteria are the N-D state–space versions of the De Carlo et al., Anderson-Jury and Lyapunov equations with complex

On Hyperexponential Stabilization of Perturbed Unicycle Dynamics
ABSTRACT The problem of hyperexponential stabilization for a mobile robot is addressed by leveraging its kinematic model with external perturbations. To this end, a robust nonlinear control law is designed, and several state and time transformations are introduced, reformulating the system model to an interconnection of integrators.

Lyapunov stability theory with some applications
In this thesis, a detailed overview of Lyapunov stability theorems of linear and nonlinear systems is presented. The Lyapunov first and second methods are investigated and the stability analysis of fractional differential systems is highlighted. A new Lemma for the Caputo fractional derivative is reviewed and a class of fractional-order gene regulatory

Clustering of Longitudinal Data: A Tutorial on a Variety of Approaches
ABSTRACT During the past two decades, methods for identifying groups with different trends in longitudinal data involving a single numeric outcome have become of increasing interest across many areas of research. To support researchers, we summarize the guidance from literature regarding the clustering of such data.

Attractors and upper semicontinuity for an extensible beam with nonlocal structural damping
Abstract We analyze the asymptotic behavior of a class of extensible beam models governed by a nonlocal structural damping mechanism of the form φ(El)(−Δ)βut$\varphi (E_l)(-\Delta)^{\beta }u_t$, where β∈λ=(0,1]$\beta \in \lambda =(0,1]$. The coefficient φ$\varphi$ is a degenerate C1$C^{1}$‐function depending on the linear energy El$E_l$ of the system ...

Thermodynamic Stability Theories of Irreversible Processes and the Fourth Law of Thermodynamics
Three approaches for determining the thermodynamic stability of irreversible processes are described in generalized formulations. The simplest is the Gibbs–Duhem theory, specialized to irreversible trajectories, which uses the concept of virtual ...

A practical guide to characterising ecological coexistence
ABSTRACT Coexistence is simultaneously one of the most fundamental concepts of ecology, and one of the most difficult to define. A particular challenge is that, despite a well‐developed body of research, several different schools of thought have developed over the past century, leading to multiple independent, and largely isolated, branches of ...

ABSTRACT Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common sustained cardiac arrhythmia encountered in clinical practice. Its incidence increases significantly with age and has become a major global public health issue. Although research into the mechanisms of AF has spanned over a century‐ranging from the reentry theory to the rotor hypothesis‐none of these

Endogenous Tax Compliance and Macroeconomic Performance Driven by Satisficing Evolutionary Dynamics
ABSTRACT We incorporate tax evasion to a demand‐led macrodynamic model of capacity utilization and output growth rate. The frequency of tax evaders is endogenously time‐varying, driven by imitation‐augmented satisficing evolutionary dynamics involving pecuniary factors, as well as non‐pecuniary elements which are reflected in the distribution of tax ...
