Breast Milk Proteome: Changes in the Different Stages of Lactation and Impacts of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and Body Mass Index

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, EarlyView.
We analyzed colostrum and breast milk from 47 mothers to see how proteins change over time and with maternal health. Colostrum had more immune proteins, while mature milk had proteins linked to growth support. Gestational diabetes and higher BMI altered the protein composition.

Buffer‐Mediated Catalyst‐Free Strecker Reaction Toward Enzymatic Implementation

open access: yesChemistryOpen, EarlyView.
Hydroxynitrile lyases (HNLs) are proven to accept imines as substrates and to catalyze the formation of α‐aminonitriles. The process results in the precursors of natural and unnatural α‐amino acids after extraction, without chromatography. This new application of HNL enzymes in Strecker reaction is an example for biocatalysis in multicomponent ...

Studies on pectin lyase

open access: yes
The pectin lyase activity in the commercial enzyme preparation Ultrazym originates from more then one type of enzyme; two of them, accounting for 95 % of the total activity, have been completely purified. As purity criteria specific activity, polyacrylamide disc gel electrophoresis and SDS electrophoresis have been used in combination. Both types of ...

Isolation and Characterization of Extracellular Vesicles From Ascochyta rabiei, a Necrotrophic Fungal Chickpea Pathogen

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles produced by pathogenic organisms play a role in host recognition and invasion across kingdoms, including fungi interacting with their plant hosts. Little is known about EVs from phytopathogenic fungi compared to human fungal pathogens.
