American Society of Clinical Oncology guideline recommendations for sentinel lymph node biopsy in early-stage breast cancer.

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Oncology, 2005
PURPOSE To develop a guideline for the use of sentinel node biopsy (SNB) in early stage breast cancer. METHODS An American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Expert Panel conducted a systematic review of the literature available through February 2004 ...

Adverse prognosis gene expression patterns in metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We aggregated a cohort of 1012 mCRPC tissue samples from 769 patients and investigated the association of gene expression‐based pathways with clinical outcomes. Loss of AR signaling, high proliferation, and a glycolytic phenotype were independently prognostic for poor outcomes, and an adverse transcriptional feature score incorporating these pathways ...

A B-cell–associated gene signature classification of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma by NanoString technology

open access: yesBlood Advances, 2018
: Gene expression profiling (GEP) by microarrays of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) has enabled the categorization of DLBCL into activated B-cell–like and germinal center B-cell–like subclasses.

Clinical predictors of right upper paraesophageal lymph node metastasis from papillary thyroid carcinoma

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology, 2012
Background Central and lateral lymph node metastases are quite common in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma, and the predictors for those metastases have been well studied.

TOMM20 as a driver of cancer aggressiveness via oxidative phosphorylation, maintenance of a reduced state, and resistance to apoptosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TOMM20 increases cancer aggressiveness by maintaining a reduced state with increased NADH and NADPH levels, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and apoptosis resistance while reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, CRISPR‐Cas9 knockdown of TOMM20 alters these cancer‐aggressive traits.

Prognostic importance of harvested lymph node number, metastatic lymph node number, and lymph node ratio in surgically managed laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2021
Introduction: Lymph node metastasis is a well-known prognostic factor for laryngeal carcinoma. However, current nodal staging systems provide limited information regarding prognosis.

Elucidating prognostic significance of purine metabolism in colorectal cancer through integrating data from transcriptomic, immunohistochemical, and single‐cell RNA sequencing analysis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low expression of five purine metabolism‐related genes (ADSL, APRT, ADCY3, NME3, NME6) was correlated with poor survival in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemistry analysis showed that low NME3 (early stage) and low ADSL/NME6 (late stage) levels were associated with high risk.

Semi-supervised Multi-domain Multi-task Training for Metastatic Colon Lymph Node Diagnosis From Abdominal CT [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The diagnosis of the presence of metastatic lymph nodes from abdominal computed tomography (CT) scans is an essential task performed by radiologists to guide radiation and chemotherapy treatment. State-of-the-art deep learning classifiers trained for this task usually rely on a training set containing CT volumes and their respective image-level (i.e ...

Revised ESTS guidelines for preoperative mediastinal lymph node staging for non-small-cell lung cancer.

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, 2014
Accurate preoperative staging and restaging of mediastinal lymph nodes in patients with potentially resectable non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is of paramount importance. In 2007, the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) published an algorithm
