Insights into the mechanisms of lymph node metastasis [PDF]
AbstractThe mechanisms by which malignant tumors leave the primary tumor site, invade lymphatics, and metastasize to regional lymph nodes (RLNs) are complex and interrelated. Although the phenomenon of lymph node metastasis has been recognized for over 200 years, the exact mechanisms have only recently been the subject of intense interest and ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Management of Multiple Mediastinal Lymph Node Metastasis in Synchronic Colorectal and Lung Carcinomas [PDF]
Metastasis of colorectal carcinomas to mediastinal lymph nodes is extremely rare. In this study, it is aimed to share our approach to mediastinal lymph nodes for treating colorectal carcinoma and lung carcinoma detected synchronously.

Lymph Node Metastasis in a Gynecologic Malignancy
A radical hysterectomy was performed on patients with stage IA2 to IIB cervical cancer. For these patients, many histopathological parameters have been reported to be prognostic factors of cervical cancer, such as a pelvic lymph node (PLN) metastasis, the histological subtype, the tumor diameter, the depth of the stromal invasion, a lymph-vascular ...

The use of Raman spectroscopy for the intra-operative assessment of axillary lymph nodes in breast cancer [PDF]
Breast cancer remains a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. Assessment of the axillary lymph nodes is part of the staging of the disease. Advances in surgical management of breast cancer have seen a move towards intra-operative lymph node ...
