Quantifying Lymph Nodes During Lymph Node Transplantation

Annals of Plastic Surgery, 2018
Abstract Quantifying lymph nodes in vascularized lymph node transfer (VLNT) has been performed using preoperative percutaneous ultrasound. The higher resolution and accuracy of intraoperative ultrasound (IOUS) over transcutaneous ultrasound has been demonstrated in the radiology literature for the identification and characterization of finer ...

Superficial lymph node infarction

Journal of Surgical Oncology, 1983
AbstractSuerficial lymph node necrosis is an unusual pathologic diagnosis encountered in clinical practice. Lymph node biopsy

Pathology, 1983
The lymph node biopsy may well be the most important surgical operation that the patient ever has. Recent advances in the immunological characterization of human lymphocyte sub-populations, and the use of selected cytochemistry techniques have enabled increased understanding of the pathogenesis of malignant lymphomas, as well as providing more precise ...

Local Lymph Node Assay

Current Protocols in Toxicology, 2004
AbstractThe murine local lymph node assay (LLNA) allows identification of chemicals that have the potential to cause skin sensitization and allergic contact dermatitis. In this test, contact allergens are identified as a function of events occurring during the induction phase of skin sensitization; specifically, stimulation of proliferative responses ...

The Architecture of Rat Lymph Nodes

Scandinavian Journal of Immunology, 1980
Although lymph nodes are conventionally regarded as composed of superficial cortex, deep cortex, and medulla, a more fundamental division of compartments is the sinuses, the interslitium, and the germinal centres. Whereas the superficial cortex, the deep cortex, and the medullary cords merge gradually into each other, the sinuses, the interstitium, and

Radiographic imaging of lymph nodes in lymph node dissection specimens.

Laboratory investigation; a journal of technical methods and pathology, 1985
A new method of identifying and locating lymph nodes in lymph node dissection specimens using a radiographic imaging technique is described. The specimen is immersed in 96% ethyl alcohol which possesses a radiographic density similar to fat tissue. Even small immersed lymph nodes contrast well with 96% ethyl alcohol.
