NeoCast is a next‐generation, solvent‐free, non‐adhesive liquid embolic designed for indications where deep occlusion is desired (e.g., tumors and chronic subdural hematoma). This novel agent offers ideal embolic properties: injectability, controllability, excellent visibility, and biocompatibility.

Multiple roles of lymphatic vessels in peripheral lymph node development
The mammalian lymphatic system consists of strategically located lymph nodes (LNs) embedded into a lymphatic vascular network. Mechanisms underlying development of this highly organized system are not fully understood.

A one-dimensional mathematical model of collecting lymphatics coupled with an electro-fluid-mechanical contraction model and valve dynamics [PDF]
We propose a one-dimensional model for collecting lymphatics coupled with a novel Electro-Fluid-Mechanical Contraction (EFMC) model for dynamical contractions, based on a modified FitzHugh-Nagumo model for action potentials. The one-dimensional model for a compliant lymphatic vessel is a set of hyperbolic Partial Differential Equations (PDEs). The EFMC

An insight into acupoints and meridians in human body based on interstitial fluid circulation [PDF]
The atlas of human acupoints and meridians has been utilized in clinical practice for almost a millennium although the anatomical structures and functions remain to be clarified. It has recently been reported that a long-distance interstitial fluid (ISF) circulatory pathway may originate from the acupoints in the extremities.

A peristaltic soft, wearable robot for compression and massage therapy [PDF]
Soft robotics is attractive for wearable applications that require conformal interactions with the human body. Soft wearable robotic garments hold promise for supplying dynamic compression or massage therapies, such as are applied for disorders affecting lymphatic and blood circulation.

Short‐chain fatty acids modulate anti‐ROR1 chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T‐cell function in an intestinal adenocarcinoma‐on‐chip model. Butyrate and propionate reduce cytotoxicity, cytokine release, and infiltration by inducing a regulatory T‐cell phenotype and T‐cell exhaustion via histone deacetylase inhibition.

Influence of Hypoxia on a Biomaterial Model of the Bone Marrow Perivascular Niche
Hypoxia is a key factor in bone marrow physiology and hematopoietic stem cell behavior. Lower oxygen tension influences the secretion of vasculature‐derived hematopoietic regulatory factors and alters hematopoietic cell behavior in a conditioned medium hydrogel model of bone marrow. Cyclosporin A is used to mitigate normoxic stress during hematopoietic

An improved model of an actively contracting lymphatic vessel composed of several lymphangions: pumping characteristics [PDF]
Using essentially our 2011 numerical model of a multi-lymphangion segment of a collecting lymphatic vessel, but augmented by inclusion of a refractory period and definition of a mid lymphangion pressure, we explore the effect of several parameters on the form of pump function curves.
