Effect of ouabain on lymphokine-activated killer cells
International Journal of Immunopharmacology, 1994A large amount of evidence points towards the potential role of lymphokine activated killer (LAK) cells as tools in the treatment of chronically stressed conditions, such as cancer. The modulation of this activity by biologically active endogenous compounds of the HPA (hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal) axis, however, is not completely understood. Ouabain,

Technical aspects of lymphokine‐activated killer cell production
Journal of Clinical Apheresis, 1988AbstractAdoptive immunotherapy is a novel approach to treating patients with cancer, utilizing as therapy a patient's own peripheral blood lymphocytes that have been activated by incubation with interleukin‐2 (IL‐2). These cells develop the ability to mediate tumor regression in vivo and are referred to as lymphokine‐activated killer (LAK) cells.
