Citric acid based durable and sustainable flame retardant treatment for lyocell fabric

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2016
Pyrovatex CP New, is a commonly used organophosphorus based flame retardant (FR) reagent for cellulosic materials. However, it has a drawback of high formaldehyde release when used with methylated melamine (MM) based cross-linker, a known carcinogenous compound.

Dyeing and finishing of lyocell union fabrics: an industrial study

Coloration Technology, 2010
Lyocell union fabrics, namely lyocell/silk and lyocell/polyester fabrics, were woven in different fabric constructions and dyed with reactive dyes, acid dyes and a disperse dye. The resulting dyed fabrics were given a resin finishing treatment and their wash fastness was measured.

Effect of Fiber Swelling on the Structure of Lyocell Fabrics

Textile Research Journal, 2001
The effect of liquid swelling on the structural rearrangement of lyocell twill fabrics is studied using a variety of techniques, including optical microscopy, dimensional measurements, and water and hexadecane retention. Lyocell fibers swell predominately laterally in water by about 30% over the dry diameter.

Dyeing behaviour of lyocell fabric: effect of NaOH pre-treatment

Cellulose, 2009
To understand the effect of alkali pre-treatment on the dyeing of lyocell fabrics, samples are pre-treated with 0.0–7.0 mol dm−3 NaOH using a pad-batch process and then dyed with different types of reactive dyes. Exhaustion, fixation, and visual colour strength (K/S values) are measured.

Evaluating the Physical and Fabric Hand Characteristics of Lyocell Fabrics Made with Different Wood Pulps

Textile Research Journal, 2005
Four different kinds of wood pulp are used to make lyocell fabric and its intermediate products, and each is evaluated in terms of its physical characteristics and fabric hand values measured with the Kawabata Evaluation System for Fabrics. The rank orders of fiber, yarn, and fabric characteristics as a whole suggest that H4 pulp is ranked highest for

Nanostructured superhydrophobic lyocell fabrics with asymmetric moisture absorbency: Moisture managing properties

Textile Research Journal, 2016
This study investigated moisture management properties of a single-faced superhydrophobic fabric. A single-faced superhydrophobic lyocell fabric, where one face of the surface is superhydrophobic and the opposite face is hydrophilic, was produced by a two-step plasma process on one side of the fabric: (1) the addition of nano-scale roughness by 5 ...
