Autophagy in MASLD: A Metabolic and Precision Medicine Perspective

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is the most common chronic liver condition worldwide and a major contributor to cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). While metabolic triggers such as obesity and insulin resistance are key drivers of MASLD, growing evidence has identified defects in intracellular quality

Autotaxin inhibitor IOA-289 reduces gastrointestinal cancer progression in preclinical models

open access: yesJournal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, 2023
Background Autotaxin (ATX) is a secreted enzyme that converts lysophosphatidylcholine to lysophosphatidic acid (LPA). LPA stimulates cell proliferation and migration and promotes wound repair following tissue damage.

Disruption of starch biosynthesis and triacylglycerol degradation impairs growth but improves photosynthesis in Arabidopsis

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 251, Issue 6, Page 3472-3488, September 2026.
Proposed model for altered carbon partitioning in wild‐type (a) and tgd1 sdp1 adg1‐1 Arabidopsis triple mutant (b). Summary Enhancing lipid accumulation by redirecting carbon from starch to triacylglycerol (TAG) in vegetative tissues is a promising strategy for developing high‐energy‐density crops for bioenergy production. However, our understanding of

Lysophosphatidic acid LPA1 and LPA3 receptors play roles in the maintenance of late tissue plasminogen activator-induced central poststroke pain in mice

open access: yesNeurobiology of Pain, 2019
We developed a mouse model for central post-stroke pain (CPSP), a centrally-originated neuropathic pain (NeuP). In this mode, mice were first injected with Rose Bengal, followed by photo-irradiation of left middle cerebral artery (MCA) to generate ...

Repurposing a Lipid Droplet‐Associated Algal Protein as a Biosensor for Phosphatidic Acid

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, Volume 5, Issue 8, August 2026.
The DTH1 lipid binding domain (DTH1LBD) binds to lipid membranes containing phosphatidic acid (PA). Its N‐terminal amphipathic helices are sufficient for this association and, when labeled with solvatochromic fluorophores, can serve as in vitro PA biosensors.

Network Pharmacology Combined With Metabonomics and Transcriptomics Reveals the Mechanism of Rubus Chingii Hu in Alleviating Nephrotoxicity Caused by Tripterygium Glycosides Tablet

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
Flow chart of RCH to improve TGT‐induced nephrotoxicity. ABSTRACT Researches on Tripterygium glycosides tablets (TGT) often overlook renal toxicity from prolonged use. Rubus chingii Hu (RCH) is beneficial to kidney health and has an unclear role in reducing nephrotoxicity.

Plant Lysophosphatidic Acids: A Rich Source for Bioactive Lysophosphatidic Acids and Their Pharmacological Applications

open access: yesBiological & Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2016
Lysophosphatidic acid (1-acyl-2-lyso-sn-glycero-3-phosphatidic acid; LPA) is a simple and minor phospholipid in plants. Plant LPAs are merely metabolic intermediates in de novo lipid synthesis in plant cell membranes or for glycerophospholipid storage.

Myocardial Lipid Metabolism Imbalance: The Pathological Core and Novel Diagnostic‐Therapeutic Directions of Cardiovascular Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 8, August 2026.
In cardiac cells, Plin5/AMPK regulate lipid homeostasis; excess CD36‐mediated uptake drives lipotoxicity, mitochondrial dysfunction, and CVDs (e.g., heart failure). Biomarkers (ApoB/ApoA‐1) and therapies (SGLT2 inhibitors) target this cascade. ABSTRACT Cardiac lipid metabolism is fundamental to myocardial energy homeostasis, with fatty acid oxidation ...

Mitochondrial membrane remodeling in stress adaptation: Lipid control of organelle quality

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Mitochondria respond to proteotoxic stress through the mitochondrial unfolded protein response, traditionally viewed as a transcriptional program that restores proteostasis by inducing chaperones and proteases. Emerging evidence indicates that mitochondrial membrane remodeling constitutes an additional adaptive component of this response ...
