Exploring biofiber properties and their influence on biocomposite tensile properties
The study measured the physical, flow and chemical properties of 10 biofibers. It characterized the tensile properties of derived biocomposites and linked them using regression models, showing robust predictive performance. Abstract Biofibers serve as effective reinforcements for neat polylactic acid (PLA) in biocomposites, offering an attractive ...

Efficient and accurate binding free energy calculation of Aβ9–40 protofilament propagation
Abstract Self‐assembled aggregation of peptides and proteins into regular amyloid fibrils is associated with several neurodegenerative diseases. In case of Alzheimer's disease proteolytic cleavage products of the amyloid precursor protein form pathological amyloid‐beta fibrils in a nucleation and propagation phase.

ABSTRACT Pyridoxic acid (PDA) was suggested as a potential endogenous biomarker to assess in vivo renal organic anion transporter (OAT) 1 and 3 activity. Here, we first investigated the population variability in the plasma baseline levels of PDA using data from five independent studies (conducted/supported by Pfizer), and subsequently developed ...

Abstract Post‐installed rebar connections and bonded fasteners are frequently used in the construction industry for connecting structural concrete elements or for anchoring structural steel elements to the base material concrete. The main goal of this contribution is to compare the long‐term displacement behavior under sustained load between the two ...

Deep CCD photometry in globular clusters. VIII - M12
Results are presented on UBV photometry, obtained using the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, for a single field (2.2 x 3.5 arcmin) located 3.5 arcmin from the center of the galactic globular cluster M12 (NGC 6218). The color-magnitude diagram (CMD) indicated a possible existence of a sequence of binary stars.
