THE PROTEINS OF BACTERIOPHAGE M13 [PDF]
Particles of the small filamentous coliphage M13 contain not only the major coat protein, which is the product of phage gene 8, but also a minor coat protein, the A protein, which is the product of gene 3. The A protein has a molecular weight of approximately 70,000 daltons, is present in one copy per virion, and is responsible for phage attachment to ...

Oxygen and Sodium Abundances in M13 (NGC 6205) Giants: Linking Globular Cluster Formation Scenarios, Deep Mixing, and Post-RGB Evolution [PDF]
We present O, Na, and Fe abundances, as well as radial velocities, for 113 red giant branch (RGB) and asymptotic giant branch (AGB) stars in the globular cluster M13.

Loss of R Factors Promoted by Bacteriophage M13 and the M13 Carrier State [PDF]
The infection of different Hfr strains ofEscherichia colibearing derepressed R factors of the fi+or fi−type can result in the loss of the R factor and the conversion of the infected cells to the R−state. This extends earlier observations on the elimination of F′ factors by bacteriophage M13 infection.

The central dynamics of M3, M13, and M92: Stringent limits on the masses of intermediate-mass black holes [PDF]
We used the PMAS integral field spectrograph to obtain large sets of radial velocities in the central regions of three northern Galactic globular clusters: M3, M13, and M92.

Calibration of the CH and CN Variations Among Main Sequence Stars in M71 and in M13 [PDF]
An analysis of the CN and CH band strengths measured in a large sample of M71 and M13 main sequence stars by Cohen (1999a,b) is undertaken using synthetic spectra to quantify the underlying C and N abundances.

Studies on Bacteriophage M13 DNA. 1. A Cleavage Map of the M13 Genome [PDF]
A physical map of the bacteriophage M13 genome has been constructed on the basis of specific cleavage of M13 replicative form DNA by bacterial restriction endonucleases. The 13 fragments produced by the enzyme from Haemophilus aphirophilus (endonuclease R.Hap II) as well as the 10 fragments produced by the enzyme from Haemophilus aegyptius ...

M13 Virus based detection of bacterial infections in living hosts [PDF]
We report a first method for using M13 bacteriophage as a multifunctional scaffold for optically imaging bacterial infections in vivo. We demonstrate that M13 virus conjugated with hundreds of dye molecules (M13-Dye) can target and distinguish pathogenic

High Energy Gamma-rays from Globular Clusters [PDF]
It is expected that specific globular clusters can contain up to a hundred of millisecond pulsars. These pulsars can accelerate leptons at the shock waves originated in collisions of the pulsar winds and/or inside the pulsar magnetospheres.

Studies on Bacteriophage M13 DNA. 2. The Gene Order of the M13 Genome [PDF]
The double-stranded replicative form DNA of bacteriophage M13 was cleaved into 13 specific fragments by the restriction endonuclease from Haemophilus aphirophilus. The individual DNA fragments from wild-type replicative form molecules were then annealed to circular, single-stranded DNAs of phage M13, bearing amber mutations as genetic markers.
