Soft theorems in matrix theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We show that the Banks-Fischler-Shenker-Susskind matrix model for M-theory obeys the leading and subleading soft theorems expected from eleven-dimensional supergravity. The subleading soft theorem implies the amplitude is Lorentz symmetric.

Matrix model and Yukawa couplings on the noncommutative torus

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
The IKKT model is proposed as a non-perturbative formulation of superstring theory. We propose a Dirac operator on the noncommutative torus, which is consistent with the IKKT model, based on noncommutative geometry.

A comment on the R4-coupling in (M)atrix theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1998
By scaling arguments we show that the presence of a $R^4$-term in the eleven dimensional supergravity effective lagrangian, if it is visible in (M)atrix theory, should produce a correction to the five-loops effective lagrangian of two moving D0-branes.

Bootstrapping ground state correlators in matrix theory. Part I

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The D0-brane/Banks-Fischler-Shenker-Susskind matrix theory is a strongly coupled quantum system with an interesting gravity dual. We develop a scheme to derive bootstrap bounds on simple correlators in the matrix theory at infinite N at zero energy by ...

IIB/M Duality and Longitudinal Membranes in M(atrix) Theory

open access: yes, 1997
In this paper we study duality properties of the M(atrix) theory compactified on a circle. We establish the equivalence of this theory to the strong coupling limit of type IIB string theory compactified on a circle. In the M(atrix) theory context, our major evidence for this duality consists of identifying the BPS states of IIB strings in the spectrum ...

A soft theorem from vertex-like operators in BFSS theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this paper, we derive a soft theorem at leading and subleading orders within the context of BFSS matrix theory. Specifically, we consider the effective field theory describing interactions between bound states of D 0-branes at leading order, which are

Super Yang-Mills theory in 10+2 dimensions, The 2T-physics Source for N=4 SYM and M(atrix) Theory

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper we construct super Yang-Mills theory in 10+2 dimensions, a number of dimensions that was not reached before in a unitary supersymmetric field theory, and show that this is the 2T-physics source of some cherished lower dimensional field ...

Matrix model correlators from non-Abelian T-dual of AdS5 × S 5

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study various perturbations and their holographic interpretation for non-Abelian T-dual of AdS5 × S 5 where the T-duality is applied along the SU(2) of AdS5.

Beyond Eikonal Scattering in M(atrix)-Theory

open access: yes, 2000
We study the problem of more general kinematics for the finite N M(atrix)-Model than the simple straight line motion that has been used before. This is supposed to be related to momentum transferring processes in the dual super-gravity description. We find a negative result for classical, perturbative processes and discuss briefly the possibility of ...

Simulating matrix models with tensor networks

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Matrix models, as quantum mechanical systems without explicit spatial dependence, provide valuable insights into higher-dimensional gauge and gravitational theories, especially within the framework of string theory, where they can describe quantum black ...
