Machine-to-Machine Communications for Healthcare
Machine-to-machine communications for healthcare is emerging for the benefit of humans. In addition to novel medium access, we provide a systematic view to look for ways to develop technology to accomplish this goal, and a thorough vision toward effective system and network design.

Energy efficiency of machine-to-machine protocols
The paper provides a comparison of energy consumption for a few commonly used M2M protocols, used on energy constrained devices in M2M communication systems. It was implemented on Arduino hardware platform. Energy consumption for each protocol is measured on boards with both Ethernet and WiFi communication modules.

dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

ZFAS1 is a lncRNA promoting cell proliferation and migration, exhibiting high expression in various cancers. It is conserved, widely expressed, and produces multiple splice variants with unclear roles. We identified several splice variants in hepatocyte models, and found that inhibiting or suppressing regulators of the unfolded protein response (PERK ...

The overgrowth of structure-function coupling in premature brain during infancy
Although the rapid growth of brain structure and function during infancy has been well documented, relatively little is known about how these two developmental processes couple—an aspect that exhibits distinct patterns in adult brain.

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.
